Cotton Knit Care Guide

Caring for Your Fine Cotton Ribbed Knit

Made from 100% fine cotton and locally produced in Tuscany, Italy, this ribbed knit cardigan is designed for comfort, timeless style, and everyday wear.

With gentle care, you can help preserve the softness, shape, and beautiful texture of the knit for seasons to come.

Wash Gently

Fine cotton benefits from gentle washing.

When your cardigan needs refreshing:

  • Hand wash at 30°C
  • Use a mild detergent suitable for delicate fabrics
  • Turn the cardigan inside out before washing
  • Gently move it through the water
  • Avoid rubbing or scrubbing the knit
  • Rinse thoroughly with cool or lukewarm water
  • Do not use bleach or harsh detergents

Avoid soaking the garment for long periods, as this can affect the shape of delicate knitwear.

Do Not Wring

After washing, gently press out excess water.

Never twist or wring your cardigan.

Instead, place it on a clean towel and gently roll the towel to absorb excess moisture.

This helps protect the ribbed knit and maintain its original shape.

Dry Flat

Gently reshape your cardigan while it is damp and lay it flat on a clean, dry towel.

Allow it to dry naturally at room temperature.

Avoid:

  • Tumble drying
  • Radiators and direct heat
  • Hanging while wet
  • Direct sunlight for prolonged periods

Drying flat helps prevent stretching and helps the cardigan maintain its beautiful silhouette.

Preserve the Ribbed Texture

The ribbed knit gives this cardigan its distinctive texture and comfortable stretch.

To keep the knit looking its best:

  • Avoid pulling or stretching the fabric unnecessarily
  • Gently reshape after washing
  • Do not iron directly over the ribbed texture
  • If ironing is needed, use a low temperature and place a thin cloth between the iron and garment

Give It Time to Breathe

Between washes, allow your cardigan to air naturally.

Fine cotton is breathable, so washing after every wear is not always necessary.

Simply airing the garment can help refresh it while reducing unnecessary washing and wear on the fibers.

Store With Care

When your cardigan is not being worn, fold it neatly and store it in a cool, dry place.

For long-term storage:

  • Make sure the garment is completely clean and dry
  • Fold rather than hanging it for extended periods
  • Avoid placing heavy garments on top
  • Keep away from prolonged moisture and direct sunlight

A Little Care Goes a Long Way

Your fine cotton cardigan was created to be a timeless part of your wardrobe.

Gentle washing, natural drying, and thoughtful storage help preserve the softness, shape, and beautiful ribbed texture of the knit.
