About the Rose Quartz

Rose quartz agate carries a soft pink that moves from near white to a deeper blush across the same slab. The color never lies evenly: it pools in one area, thins in another, and fine banding follows the lines the stone grew along.

Held toward a lamp the thinner sections pass light and go almost translucent while the body stays milky. The polished face holds a low sheen rather than a mirror finish.

How It’s Made

The plate is hand hewn from one piece of natural rose quartz agate rather than assembled from fragments, so the pattern runs unbroken from end to end. The cut edge is trimmed in electroformed brass: real metal grown onto the stone until it has thickness of its own and permanently bonded, not a coating that can rub off. A pair of looped handles in solid brass is fitted at the short sides for lifting.
